If all the babies in the world tried to hang out in my apartment there wouldn’t be enough room for them and some would have to stay outside.
— lungbones (@lungbones) April 30, 2013
@lungbones has painted a scene that few twitter users want to see. A room full of babies? There are better things to fill a room with. This one is a humblebrag gone awry. Followers who are used to @lungbones’ “twee” voice on twitter would do well to skip over this one for other, better tweets.
check out these lazy sacks of shit twitter.com/search?q=%22ga…
— dendycrew (@dendycrew) April 29, 2013
@dendycrew tracks down the emergent humor in the “humorless void” of the unsophisticated tweeting masses. Akin to other works by @boring_as_heck, @brendlewhat and even @Hermit_Thrush, this tweet by dendy does little to progress the genre. This subpar tweet’s only saving grace is that it is topical. This, too, though, will erode, leaving us with a forgettable tweet just as “lazy” as the lowbrow bigots being lampooned.
“Jesus, take the deal” – Howie Mandel
— Meat Popsicle (@NotTheRealShaq) May 2, 2013
@NotTheRealShaq lands a two-for-one in this tweet, parodying Deal or No Deal (and its host, Howie Mandel) as well as Carrie Underwood’s 2005 hit song. While the juxtaposition is clever, there is no cultural relevance. It’s hard to take @NotTheRealShaq’s newer work seriously when the bar is set so low. This is the new Depeche Mode album of tweets.
If I assign you a title, you aren’t obligated use it. Not at all. But you’d be an idiot not to.
— Greg Buns Mills (@Bosko_DePompo) April 22, 2013
@Bosko_DePompo really makes you think. Makes you think “why did I ever follow this guy?” This is the sort of work you’d expect from early 2012 “poetic fusion” tweeters. To make a tweet like this in 2013 is a huge disservice to @Bosko_DePompo’s fanbase.
Coming this summer *camera pans over apocalyptic wasteland and settles on Jude Laws grave* voiceover: “10 Years ago we had Steve Jobs, Bob H
— Chandler Google (@JckCorrigan) April 30, 2013
While this tweet from @JckCorrigan breaks no new ground, we here at the Feedbuzz VA Club would love to see the sequel with Lucy Lawless. Stay tuned for less disappointing tweets from @JckCorrigan.
@timescanner I’m sexy and I know it therefore I am
— muttgomery (@muttgomery) April 26, 2013
This is a reply tweet. It is impossible to strip away context, but it begs the question nonetheless: would this @muttgomery tweet stand on its own without piggybacking on the earlier work of @timescanner? The well is already poisoned and it’s best to forget this tweet and move on to more independent twitter artists.
Son, your mother and i found your Internet history & to put it bluntly were a bit worried. Do you really not know how to catch a missingno?
— luke (@internetluke) May 1, 2013
@internetluke throws a softball with this tweet. The subject of Missingno has been explored in great detail by many artists. Is it too much to expect a fresh perspective on the famous glitch Pokemon? If it is, perhaps the topic should be put to rest entirely. There is nothing new left to say about Missingno and so we shouldn’t say anything at all.
